Hindu Conference of Canada: Queen's Park Press Statement in support of 'One School System'

June 2007: Queen's Park, Toronto:

The HINDU CONFERENCE OF CANADA (www.hccanada.com) joined with humanists and progressive secularists in Ontario to demand a 'One School System'; where governments do not fund any religious faith schools from any community. Here, a Director explains that Hindu civilization has always had separation of religion, politics, and education, and in India today progressive parties like the opposition BJP are calling for ending unfair govt subsidies to minority faith schools, which discriminates against the Hindu majority. He also informs that in Canada, radical Sikh terrorists proliferate and some fundamentalists, including accused Air India bomber Mr Malik, have helped establish several Sikh Khalsa schools in Vancouver area. Canada cannot subsidize faith schools because of the proven links between genocidal Sikh fundamentalists and some Sikh religious schools. Hindu Conference of Canada is a progressive group that is part of the One School System Network (www.onessn.org). We have also published an editorial on this subject in the Toronto Sun (see our Editorials page)
