2007 Achievements Summary

One School System Network ( http://www.onessn.org ) Activities:

1. participated in a press conference at Queen's Park

2. published an op-ed in the Toronto Sun

3. interviewed on Global TV Morning Show to outline Canadian Hindu views

4. provided numerous interviews with CTV News to deliver the Hindu perspective

Other Activities:

1. partnered with the University of Toronto-Rotman School of Management and IIT-Alumni of Canada to present the event 'OPPORTUNITIES IN INDIA'( http://www.hccanada.com/rotman.pdf )

2. published eleven op-eds in mainstream newspapers such as the Financial Post and Toronto Sun ( http://www.hccanada.com/media-editorials.html )

3. We also published eleven 'Letters to the Editor' in mainstream Canadian newspapers ( http://www.hccanada.com/media-letters.html )

So far in 2008, we have already delivered two major human rights events, including a seminar on 'Racism against Malaysian Hindus' and a joint event with the Jewish community 'Hinduphobia and Antisemitism'.

2006 Achievements Summary

A. Defending Hindu Interests and Human Rights:

1. HCC organizes and hosts anti-terror vigil outside the Indian Consulate in Toronto, July 22, 2006. The event featured speeches by influential leaders in the Hindu community, as well as Conservative Party member Peter Kent. Letters of support were received from Bnai Brith and Canadian Jewish Congress. The vigil was covered by major news networks, including Global Television and CTV.

2. HCC makes a presentation on media bias at the Hindu Youth Conference in Toronto, August 19, 2006.

3. HCC organizes and hosts an educational seminar entitled ‘Combating Stereotypes in Education: Hindu Parent-Child Initiative’ at the North York Central library auditorium, August 26, 2006.

4. HCC makes presentations and screens movies for 'Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week' at Ryerson University, Toronto, November 7, 2006.
